Today was a travel day to get from Visalia CA to Groveland CA. The directions to the Campground were very specific about how you should travel as the hills are crazy here. The directions were great until we were almost in Groveland. Later in the pictures you will see the side of a mountain with black pipes going up it. That is the last mountain that we had to go over before we got to the campground. They did not tell us ahead that it was 11 miles of climbing with no guard rails! In the motorhome you sit much higher and I did not like this one at all! The unfortunate part was that the transmission overheated and we lost the fluid as we entered the campground. We've been told that this happens with Ford Trucks! If we had known the size of the hill we would not have towed the car...... We still have to go down this hill when we leave here on Wednesday so I will drive the car down.
Yesterday when we went to Yosemite we had a 55 minute wait in line before we could get into the park. Once in the park it was so packed with people that they closed Yosemite Village. We decided that we will wait till Monday and visit the Village then. Everyone else should be on their way out and it will give us some breathing room. Yesterday we only went as far as the first pullout to see Half Dome and El Capitain -- what a site. We could actually see two climbers on El Capitain thru our spotting scope!
