Today - April 28th

Well -- we wanted to make it to Texas tonight but we just wanted to get off the road and settled down early so that I could get on-line and get the website updated. I've gotten a good deal of our trip noted and uploaded a bunch of pictures that I hope you are enjoying.

We are settled in at the KOA Elk City/Clinton - Oklahoma.

Tomorrow we head for Texas!

Cherokee Casino Campground - Will Rogers Homestead

This is Ed's Leprechan Goat -- he was so cute -- we had fun with the animals at Will Rogers homestead.

The Barn at the homestead and donkey too!

Ok we stayed in Claremore for a couple of days because we decided to see both the gun museum and the Will Rogers Museum and homestead -- it was a great choice!

JM Davis Museum - more pictures

JM Davis Museum (Arms and Historical Items)

This is an incredible museum -- even though I am showing some of the fun pictures.

This museum holds 9400 firearms on display and still has 4000 yet to be displayed. He is said to have the Largest personal collection in the world.

Following will be more photos taken in the museum.

More images from Will Rogers Museum

Will Rogers Museum

We stopped in Claremore Oklahoma which was the hometown of Will Rogers -- they have a wonderful museum with many original pictures, paintings, and statues that were done by Russell.
The next few pictures will be from the Museum.

Route 44 Oaklahoma

These are pictures along Rt. 44 thru Oaklahoma - Notice the MacDonalds over the highway. Also the other two show the distance over the farms. I can't believe you have to really look to see where the Farms end.

Images on the road from Stouland, MO to Claremore, OK

These were kind of interesting things along the road. One is a car that must have been sitting in the rest area for years! The other, wire art that decorates your yard. Some of the art was pretty cool.

Did you know that Party Boats are born in Springfield, Missouri?

Departing Charlie and Georgie's in Missouri

As you can see -- Charlie still has Tank in his hands.
More shots of Fantastic Caverns.

Fantastic Caverns - Missouri

We went to Fantastic Caverns with Charlie and Georgie - what a great cave. You ride in a wagon pulled behind a jeep -- it was a great way to see the caves and have a tour guide describe what you were looking at.

Our "Almost" Dog -- Meet Tank

"Tank" was dumped at Charlie and Georgie's and we were very tempted to take him with us but since he had no shots and could still be claimed by someone we decided it best not to take him along with us.
He was quite sweet and really just a puppy. He looks like a cross between a Rottweiler and a hot dog!

This is at Charlie and Georgie's Campground in Stoutland, Missouri -- It's our friend's house and they put in full hook-ups for us. What a great time we had with them.

Catch up -- Travel from Illinois to Missouri

This is a shot of us traveling into St. Louis -- I was really excited to drive so close to the "Arch".

Update

Hi all --
We are in Tulsa, OK and went to the Will Rogers Museum and the JM Davis Arms and Historic Museum. Today we are headed across the remainder of Oklahoma and headed into Texas. Hoping to be camping in Texas tonight.
Will post pictures soon.

Happy Campers
