6/23 - Juneau Whale Watching

This was the first whales we saw on our Whalewatch in Juneau. It was a very spectacular siting since humpback whales do not run in pods and there were three whales together.
A mom, calf and what the naturalist called an escort whale.
The escort or mom would do a movement and then the baby would copy the movement. It was very exciting.

6/22 - Mountains - first view inside passage

As we started up the inside passage -- all of these wonderful snow capped mountains started to appear! The views caught you by surprise as you were inside the ship attending to something and then walked outside and were in awe!

6/22 - Pilot Boats

When traveling in different area's on the cruise we had to have a pilot aboard. This is the person who knows the waterways very well and by law needs to be aboard when we enter certain areas. Here are a couple of pictures of the first pilot boat pulling away.

6/22 - False Whales

After seeing the Orca's right out of Puget Sound - we were all anxious to see more - so everything that was floating was starting to get everyone excited that we might be seeing a whale again - oh no -- it's a log with birds hitching a ride!
